Owl and mouse

This is a beautiful, individual, one-off piece of hand-crafted pyrography art-work depicting an owl homing in on a mouse. (But the mouse escapes!)

A little background to my art. Pyrography dates back to the 17th century, and literally means "writing with fire", from the Greek pur (fire) and graphos (writing) and is achieved by hand using a special electrically heated pen.

This original piece of 10" x 12" artwork has been burnt into a solid piece of 12"x12", 6mm quality birch ply totally by hand, taking in excess of 12 hours to complete. It was the coloured with high quality acrylics, and the finished work was then coated twice with acrylic satin lacquer to protect it. This item is un-framed, but will fit a standard 12" square frame, should you wish to.
